Aug. 11, 1969" circular datestamp, clear strike of "Delayed in Quarantine at Lunar Receiving Laboratory M.S.C.-Houston, Texas" handstamp, cover is also signed by Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins, pristine condition, ink "EEA-27 Carried to the Moon on Apollo 11" at top left

EXTREMELY FINE. ONE OF ONLY A FEW KNOWN COVERS CARRIED TO THE MOON AND BACK AND SIGNED BY THE ENTIRE CREW OF APOLLO 11. AN OUTSTANDING PIECE OF SPACE EXPLORATION HISTORY.

The U.S. Post Office authorized the astronauts to carry one "moon letter" on Apollo 11. After clearing quarantine, it was toured extensively. A few other pieces of mail, not authorized by the Post Office, were also carried aboard Apollo 11. These, too, underwent quarantine procedures. 150 souvenir cards were also prepared but were not flown.

Very few covers actually flown to the moon and signed are known. One sold most recently realized $46,000 in a September 1999 Christie's auction.

EXTREMELY FINE. ONE OF 1,000 COVERS FLOWN TO THE SPACE STATION MIR IN COMMEMORATION OF THE THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF SPUTNIK. A WONDERFUL SPACE FLIGHT RARITY.

The USSR established a post office on Space Station Mir for the commemoration of this event. 1,000 postal cards were flown to the space station, cancelled on board with the special blue postmark, and returned to Earth.
