Our 2005 Rarities sale featured highlights from the Arthur White estate, and the balance of his Transoceanic Mail collection will be offered in the U.S. Postal History and Foreign sale scheduled for November. Each cover is mounted on a page with detailed analysis of the rates and routes.
The Confederate States will be represented in the next Postal History sale in November with a specialized collection of New Orleans and a portion of the Peter W. W. Powell Collection. A few highlights are shown here.
Rare stamps and markings used by carriers and local posts will form the core of a specialized sale to be held in November. The major portion of the sale comes from one collector, who was an active buyer in the Golden, Hall and Schwartz sales held by the Siegel firm.
Following the successful Rarities Part 2 sale, in which Western Expresses brought consistently high prices, further offerings will be made in November, with emphasis on scarce used franks.
