Mainberger Officials and Newspapers to be Sold

Carl Mainberger was an extremely knowledgeable collector who specialized in used Official blocks and multiples of Newspapers & Periodicals stamps. His collection will be sold by the Siegel firm as part of a U.S. sale in November.

Mr. Mainberger generously bequeathed proceeds from the sale equally between The Philatelic Foundation and The Collectors Club of New York. In recognition of this generous bequest, the Siegel firm has agreed to waive its usual seller’s commission, so that the full hammer price of every lot sold will go to these two worthy organizations.
