Tips for Internet Bidders:

The following tips and suggestions are designed to try and make the internet bidding experience more successful and rewarding

The bidding moves very fast (we typically sell between 80 and 100 lots per hour), and unless you act fast it is possible that your bid will be missed. These tips are suggested to try to ensure that this does not happen.

  1. Know your limit before you start to bid. There is little time for contemplation once the lot opens. By the time you have made a decision, the lot may already have been sold.
  2. When your lot comes up, be prepared to click on the buttons.
  3. On the right side of your screen are several buttons for bidding increments. When your lot comes up, we encourage you to bid early. This way, we will know that an internet bidder is interested in the lot, and will try and keep the lot open a few seconds longer.
  4. We will always try and get the lot for you for as little as possible. Sometimes there are tie bids, or other bids are acknowledged by the auctioneer before the internet bidder's bid can be recognized. If it is within your limit, use one of the higher-increment buttons to give yourself a better chance of winning the lot.
