VERY FINE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE AND COLORFUL COVER BEARING THE COMPLETE SET OF THE FIRST COMMEMORATIVE STAMPS ISSUED BY THE UNITED STATES, POSTMARKED ON THE LAST DAY OF THE EXPOSITION. BELIEVED TO BE A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF STAMPS AND MARKINGS. A BEAUTIFUL COVER, AND ONE OF THE GREAT COLUMBIAN ISSUE RARITIES.

The cover was created by 19th Century stamp dealer, A.P.S. President and Hall of Famer, Philip M. Wolsieffer. He invested a total of $16.54 in postage to create this philatelic masterpiece. The addressee was no longer at Savannah when Wolsieffer's creation arrived on November 3, but forwarding instructions were written over the first address. The cover was redirected to a hotel in Mexico City. There are no postal markings indicating that it was received in Mexico.

Perhaps five or six covers exist with the full sixteen Columbian Issue stamps. This cover is believed to be unique with this combination of stamps and exposition markings. (Image)
