bottom and full perfs at top so that stamp appears to have wide margins on

Printing (173). Without gum as issued, sharp proof-like impression on
bright paper, showing full and intact perfs all around except for single
nibbed perf at rightVERY FINE AND CHOICE. AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT CONTINENTAL SPECIAL PRINTING. APPROXIMATELY 60 EXAMPLES ARE BELIEVED TO EXIST.
Our records indicate that several of the recorded examples were scissors-separated, causing the loss of at least some perforations. This example is rare in that none of the sides were scissors-separated. (Image)
