Position 2L4 -- top row of Plate 4 -- large margins all around incl. part
of sheet margin at top, deep plate 4 color, tied by well-struck "Rutland
Vt. Jan. 20, 1858" circular datestamp on turned cover to Mt. Holley
Vt., inside bears 3c Rose (65) tied by "Cuttingsville Vt. Nov. 1" circular
datestamp and addressed to Tyson Furnace Vt., opened for display, some
minor edge wear, the 1c Ty. II is Extremely Fine, unusual use of a superb
top-row Plate 4 stamp -- the finest examples of Type II come from this row
(their counterparts are Type Ia bottom-row stamps) -- with 1989 P.F.

large portion of adjoining stamp below, a later impression that still shows
traces of plumes at bottom and the pronounced double transfer, tied by blue
"North Vasselboro Me." circular datestamp on printed notice for a Maine
Agricultural Society meeting, lightly cleaned and pressed, Extremely Fine,
stamps from Position 7R on Plate 1 Late are scarce -- this large-margined
example on cover is remarkably choice
