unusual town markings incl. Lambertville negative circle (stained cover), Augusta "Horn of Plenty", usages begin to diversify around 1820's incl. "Mail Route", "Forwarded", 1836 Express Mail, Hale & Co., "Steam", Martin Van Buren free frank, ship
letters, "Rail Road Car" straightline (a gorgeous strike and cover), July 1, 1845 first day followed by nice range of 1845-1863 usages incl. "Housatonic Railroad 5", hotel markings, local posts, trans-continental rates, name-of-boat steamboat packet,
a cover to President James K. Polk, Mexican War, and ending with Sanitary Commission stampless soldiers' letters, condition is generally Very Fine, we have removed only a handful of better covers as individual lots, leaving the core study collection
