EXTREMELY FINE. REGARDED AS THE FINEST OF THE FEW 10-CENT FRAMELINE STAMPS KNOWN ON COVERS FROM TENNESSEE. ONE OF A HANDFUL OF FOUR-FRAMELINE STAMPS ON COVER FROM ANY CONFEDERATE STATE.

By mid-1863, when the 10c Frameline was released, much of Tennessee was occupied by Federal forces. Greenville, in eastern Tennessee, was one of the last cities to to fall, and it received more of the General Issues than any other post office. Gallagher reported six known Frameline covers from Tennessee.
