FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE 1847 ISSUE COVER TO CANADA WITH THE 3-PENCE FERRIAGE RATE.

The special 3p ferriage rate applied to mail crossing between Cape Vincent and Kingston, which required two ferries and a land crossing. The 3p ferriage rate applied until the new U.S.-Canadian postal treaty took effect on April 6, 1851. (Image Magnifier)
