Hunting Permits, War Savings
Lot Sym. Lot Description Est/Cat Realized
343 nhbl image$1.00 1934 Hunting Permit (RW1). Mint N.H. top left plate no. 129202 block of six, fresh and bright color, side selvage somewhat reduced, single perf tip on top right stamp with tiny trivial gum soak

FINE-VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE PLATE BLOCK OF THE FIRST HUNTING PERMIT ISSUE, SCOTT RW1.

A review of our computerized records indicates that we have only sold four other Mint N.H. plate blocks of six with selvage on both sides. This configuration is necessary to be considered a true plate block. (Image)

344 nhbl image$1.00 1936 Hunting Permit (RW3). Mint N.H. bottom left plate no. 134318 block of six, rich color and proof-like impression, almost perfectly centered throughout

EXTREMELY FINE AND SCARCE MINT NEVER-HINGED PLATE BLOCK OF THE $1.00 1936 HUNTING PERMIT ISSUE.

This is a surprisingly difficult plate block to obtain in Mint N.H. condition and with such choice centering. We have only offered ten other Mint N.H. plate blocks since we started keeping computerized records almost 13 years ago. Of those perhaps three or four compare favorably to the example offered here.
