Cameo Corner Cards.
Important collection of approximately 300 mostly different non-illustrated
cameo designs, almost all from the 1850's with 3c 1851-57 Issues (several
Nesbitt entires), some with 3c 1861's and only a few later Bank Notes,
representing a wide range of businesses, styles and origins, a few with
"extras" such as forwarding, hotel handstamp, colored postmark etc., this
group has been carefully selected from a much larger collection with an eye
toward condition and appearance, thus only a few have stains or faults
other than the usual edgewear and minor flaws, generally Fine-Very Fine, a
magnificent group and very unusual large-scale offering of these popular
"classic" cameo corner cards, a valuable nucleus for expansion or major
addition to an existing collection, huge profit potential for the retail
dealer or eBay seller with at least one-third of the covers having $50 to
$75 individual retail value (Image) |
