soiling, stamps have faint toningVERY FINE. AN EXTRAORDINARILY UNCOMMON FRANKING FOR THE 15-CENT RATE TO GERMANY BY DIRECT MAIL TO HAMBURG. According to North Atlantic Mail Sailings 1840-75, the HAPAG steamer Hammonia left New York on Sep. 21, 1861, arriving at Hamburg on Oct. 3.
