A FINE COVER AND THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE KAHULUI RAILROAD COMPANY ISSUE OSTENSIBLY USED ON COVER.

The Kahului Railroad Co. stamps with "H.I." handstamp are surrounded by controversy, with some believing that this marking was fabricated later and applied to remainders. This is the sole surviving cover with the handstamp used as a cancel. Although the stamps were intended to be used in receipt books, it is possible that this represents a legitimate use on cover. The accompanying 1984 P.F. certificate supports this cover's genuineness.
