EXTREMELY FINE. A REMARKABLE COVER WITH A SINGLE 12-CENT FRANKING FOR THE TREATY RATE TO ANY AUSTRALIAN COLONY.

Gregory does not report the number of 12c rate covers from Hawaii to the Australian Colonies, but the description in the Shreve 1996 Pietsch sale states "less than ten covers known," presumably based on Albert Chang's records. This cover realized $4,750 hammer in that sale.
