Choice centering with wide and balanced margins, intense color on bright paper, neat strike of "Paid" in oval cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, with 2006 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95, SMQ $500.00), only two have graded higher to date in the P.S.E. population report (Image) 50.00 750.00

EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. THE 3-CENT 1861 PINK IS EXTREMELY RARE WITH ORIGINAL GUM.

Most original-gum examples of the Pink have vertical creasing and slightly brownish gum. However, very few have the centering and bright fresh color of this choice example.
