Series, Progressive Trial Color Plate Proofs (40TC, 43TC, 44TC, Yvert
43TC-45TC). Mint N.H. sheets of 25 with selvage on all sides, the four
left designs monocolor, right vertical row multicolored, the 22fr and 135fr
with small pencil notations (latter may be color designations), some slight
edgewear not affecting designsVERY FINE. A RARE GROUP OF THREE SHEETS OF TRIAL COLOR PROGRESSIVE PROOFS FOR THE 1971 FISH SERIES. IT IS BELIEVED THAT ONLY 13-15 SHEETS OF EACH WERE PRINTED. Most of the printed sheets have been broken up to supply collector demand for singles and strips. These complete sheets are a great rarity. These three denominations were actually issued in 1972 (despite what Scott Catalogue notes) and so it is likely that none were prepared for other denominations of the series. (Image) |
