toning at top of cover and around a few perfs not mentioned on accompanying
certificate, otherwise Very Fine, according to the Gobie book, a quantity
of these were used as either third or fourth class mail, this was likely
sent via third class mail as the month and yeardate are still present, with

Of Labor/Immigration Service." corner card imprint cover, registered
locally in Sumas Wash. and franked with 2c Carmine (463) and 1c and 5c
Parcel Post Postage Due (JQ1, JQ3), natural s.e., tied by "Sumas, Wash.
Registered. Feb 29 1916" double-circle datestamps, official seal on back
with same cancellation, back of cover has light mounting stains not
affecting the seal, also includes another LOX17 cover with "Department of
the Interior/United States Land Office" and "Woodward, Okla." handstamp
corner card, Official Business/Eagle and Shield Official Business indicia
to Minco, Indian Territory, 8c 1902 tied by Nov 1906 Minco Ind. T.
grid duplex circular datestamp to pay registry postage back to Woodward,
seal slit open when cover opened at right, scarce pair of covers (Image) |
