instead of diagonal laid lines and seal on flap, to Horne Pa., "Blood's
Despatch Nov. 5, 4-1/2 P.M." and blue "Philadelphia Pa. Nov. 5" circular
datestamps, 1853 docketing on back, slight wear, otherwise Very Fine,
postal stationery specialist Ken Lawrence replied to our inquiry about this
entire: "Fabulous item. Yes, horizontally laid with horizontal watermark is
scarce (approximately 50 in my census [47 canceled with seals, unique
canceled without seal in note size, 4 not canceled with seals], Maisel
estimated no more than 80, feel free to cite either or both), and I have
never heard of one with any Blood's stamp or any other local, and only one
with an express frank" -- need we say more?
