VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE GEORGE W. LAIRD 3-CENT DIE CUT ISSUE ON PINK PAPER. ESPECIALLY RARE WITH THE DOUBLE TRANSFER. ONLY 9 ARE RECORDED -- THIS DOUBLE TRANSFER MAY WELL BE UNIQUE.

The Aldrich book records 9 examples of this issue but does not note how many have a double transfer. The variety is listed in Scott, but their pricing is inconsistent and needs to be updated. The normal stamp catalogues $3,000.00, while the rare double transfer only catalogues $900.00. The Scott Catalogue applies a multiplier from 10% to 150% for other examples of the variety, such as the 3c die cut on Pink paper. (Image)
