Counterfeit" (248F). An unused single, unused pair with red pen
"Counterfeit" written across the face and black ms. "C" in each left corner
applied by the post office and a used single with machine cancel, typical
rough perfs, Fine, this counterfeit was printed in Chicago by a group
headed by a woman, Tinsa McMillan, the stamps were sold through a so-called
"Canadian Novelty Supply Co. in Hamilton, Ontario, once caught and
convicted, Ms. McMillan was sentenced to eighteen months in prison, not
many stamps were circulated (Image) |
