VERY FINE. AN IMPRESSIVE AND RARE PERU AND UNITED STATES 5-CENT TAYLOR MIXED-FRANKING COVER.

The rate from Peru to the U.S. was 17c by American Packet, then British Packet via Colon. This cover apparently went via Panama, a route that had been discontinued after Dec. 1871, and was likely carried by American Packet the entire trip.
