(R31c). Uncancelled, radiant color, tiny negligible soiled spot at
bottom leftVERY FINE. ONE OF THE FINEST UNCANCELLED EXAMPLES OF THE 6-CENT PROPRIETARY STAMP IN EXISTENCE.
The 6c Proprietary is one of the rarest of the basic First Issue design types. Examples are usually faulty and almost always cancelled.

blue "Charles Osgood, New York, Jul. 8, 1871" double oval datestamp, minute
pinhole apparently caused by cancelEXTREMELY FINE. WITHOUT QUESTION ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE RARE 6-CENT PROPRIETARY STAMP EXTANT.
Only a small number of 6c Proprietary stamps are known in sound condition. This beautifully-centered and neatly cancelled sound stamp is probably one of the two or three finest in existence.
