Complete block of the six designs, large margins, some toning, few small paper imperfections EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THIS TOPPAN, CAPENTER, CASILIER & COMPANY ESSAY. As an indication of rarity, this is the first example we have offered since keeping computerized records. Cut to shape as always and mounted on stamp-size piece of India paper, intense shade, Very Fine example of this scarce essay and in better condition than most, according to an essay published in Ashbrook's One-Cent book, a 6c stamp was contemplated to pay the single-letter rate for distances over 3,000 miles, according to Brazer it appears that the 6c was changed to 1c because of the need for this value (Image)	2,750.00
