to "General Joseph R. Anderson, C.S. Army, Wilmington, North
Carolina", ms. "Missent" and with "Wilmington N.C. Feb. 24"
datestamp, some edgewear, Very Fine, General Anderson was commissioned a
Brigadier General on September 3, 1861, he was first assigned to command
the Confederate forces at Wilmington N.C., in April of 1862, he was
reassigned to the area around Fredericksburg Va.
