flap, two holes at left, appears Very Fine, Hong Kong letters sent to Italy
via British of French mails were prepaid only as far as Alexandria and the

homebound voyage which allowed prepayment all the way, as the agreement
between Italy and Britain was not effective until Aug. 9, 1871, accompanied
by page describing rate and route in detail
