1118		GERMAN TRANSATLANTIC MAIL TO AND FROM THE U.S. 111 covers on exhibit pages in two albums, years range from 1835 to 1875, all between the U.S. and German States or unified Germany, excellent variety of routes, lines, rates and markings, each identified by sailing vessel, some covers addressed beyond German borders with transit markings incl. scarce "12-3/4/AMERICA/UBER BREMEN" and "AMERICA/UBER/BREMEN 33/9" handstamps and script "By U. St. Mail" straightline, depreciated currency markings, forwarders, a few with U.S. and German stamp frankings, all covers are clean and sound, due to the complexity of U.S.-German mails, these covers have enormous eye appeal and challenge the mind, there is a tremendous wealth of analysis (including letters from noted researcher, Richard Winter) to help explain the routes, rates and currency exchange notations, more than a third of the covers are worth $100 each	E. 2,000-3,000
