5c Blue, Bluish (361). At
first glance the gum appears Mint N.H. but there are the barest traces of a
previous hinge, deep rich color on nicely blued paper, perfectly centered
with well-proportioned marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT BLUISH PAPER WHICH HAS ONLY BEEN VERY LIGHTLY HINGED. A STAMP OF REMARKABLE BEAUTY. The 5c is the rarest of the regularly-issued Bluish Paper set, and it is usually found off center. In our opinion, the centering of this stamp is a solid XF-Superb 95, and the extraordinarily fresh gum with only a trace of a hinge adds to its overall grade. With 2000 P.F. certificate (Image) |
