VERY FINE AND CHOICE. ONE OF THE FINEST OF THE TWELVE USED COPIES THAT HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED BY THE PHILATELIC FOUNDATION.

Our updated census of Scott 506a contains twelve used copies. Of these, eight have faults ranging from pulled perfs to creases. This is one of the finest copies contained in our records.

EXTREMELY FINE CENTERING. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 20-CENT PERF 10 AT TOP OR BOTTOM. THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL PERF 10 ON ONE SIDE VARIETIES.

We have only sold two other examples since keeping computerized records. The first was in our 1999 Rarities sale, which realized $6,750 hammer. The last example we have offered realized $10,500 hammer in our 2001 auction of the Twigg-Smith Collection (Sale 835). Despite 12 years of searching, Zoellner was never able to find a copy of this rarity (Image)
