vertical strip of four of the U.S. stamp with margin showing three
adjoining stamps at left, at right is a vertical strip of four plus single
to the right of the French 1c Napoleon design, usual defects associated
with this fragile paper, otherwise Very Fine, probably unique, accompanied
by Essay-Proof Journal article describing this essay, Lowenberg was
also trying to secure a contract to sell his process to the French
