1317 c RUSSIAN AREA CIVIL WAR, 1917-1922. A wonderful collection of over 60 covers or money order forms housed in one volume, about half are from Azerbaijan with pictorial and surcharge frankings, about a dozen Armenia, six to eight each of Far Eastern Republic, Georgia and South Russia and a couple Z.S.F.S.R. and Siberia, several better frankings and a couple mixed usages, in addition, there are about 170 unused and used stamps of Azerbaijan which include some nice inverted and double surcharge varieties, overall Fine-Very Fine, a truly fascinating and valuable collection that is sure to please our specialist viewers E. 3,000-4,000
1318 c RUSSIA PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT CIVIL WAR POSTAL HISTORY, 1917-1923. A valuable and extremely interesting accumulation of nearly 100 items, includes censored mail to the U.S., inflation period with huge frankings sometimes consisting of part sheets, mixed usages with Imperial and Civil War issues, stamps used with postal savings or money order stamps, a few better frankings, etc., also a few covers used out of the period, three sheets of Mint stamps and two picture post cards with Offices in Turkey (Wrangel) issues, Fine-Very Fine as these are typically found, an ideal lot for further study or expansion, and certainly an excellent basis for an exhibition collection E. 2,000-3,000

1320 UKRAINE COLLECTION, 1918-1923. One volume containing several hundred unused and used stamps, multiples and a few covers, includes first issue imperforate multiples and perforated singles, trident overprints from the six different regional centers with a variety of types, including blocks of four or larger of the 3.5R-10R imperforates with Kiev tridents (3.5R in both black and violet), a cover with trident overprints affixed over invalid Russian stamps, 1923 Famine Relief set with original gum imperf pairs and imperf pairs on cover front (B1a-B4a) and an original gum set of watermarked singles (B5-B8), some Western Ukraine with five different between Nos. 75/91 plus four varieties, and unused and used sets of Nos. 85-103, also includes some exile government unofficial issues and the 1920 Unissued Pictorial set with proofs and inverted centers, generally Fine-Very Fine, a nice lot of material from this challenging and popular collecting area E. 500-750
1321 c A.E.F. FORCES IN SIBERIA, 1918-19. Eighteen covers (all but two are stampless), includes six with the smaller "U.S. Postal Agency Siberia" grid duplex, and two with the larger size bars duplex, one of each with striking handcolored Japanese illustrated scene corner card, another a "Roessler" flying mail bag cachet "Air Plane Stamp News" and U.S 3c Victory tied by postmark, and a pink cover with flag decal tied by the postmark, cover with "U.S. Postal Agency Shanghai Oct. 6, 1918" grid duplex from a soldier in the A.E.F. Siberia and with boxed censor marking, cover from Shanghai with U.S. 1c Green No. 498 pair tied by "U.S. Postal Agency Shanghai" postmark to a soldier in care of the American Red Cross in Siberia, Russian censor backstamps, then a series of eight covers from "Operation Polar Bear" all with "P.B" incorporated into their British "Army" or "Field Post Office" double circle cancellers, includes P.B. Nos. 1, 2, 11. 55, 66 and 88, also six related covers and three nice picture post cards, one written on the second day of occupation of Archangel, typical to mostly nicer than usually seen quality, Fine lot of material from this popular collecting area E. 1,500-2,000
1322 c UNDELIVERABLE WWI MAIL FROM THE U.S. TO RUSSIA. Five legal-size covers, all same correspondence ca. mid-November 1917 franked with U.S. 15c Gray (514) tied by New York "H.T." double ovals, all returned to sender with either American or Russian censor labels, handstamps and/or labels stating no means of transportation of the article to its destination, lots of backstamps but only one with a Russian one (Moscow) dated about five months after posting in New York, slight foxing, Fine lot, scarce E. 150-200
