1246 GERMANY, WWI BRITISH CIVILAIN INTERNMENT CAMP AT RUHLEBEN. Collection on pages of 73 unused stamps and nine covers, includes regular postage, special delivery and official, values range from one-third pence to three pence in various colors or color combinations, the "covers" are intra-camp and include four different special deliveries on one, two with tying commemorative cancels "1914 One Year's 1915/Captivity/Nov. 6th. 2 p.m." four pieces of Mint "One Third-Penny" postal stationery (one compound type with two different designs), postal card with 1915 postmark in German from an internee who writes "What do you mean by starting up such utter nonsense cut it out for goodness sake if our people at home should hear of it they would stop money and parcels....", and last, a cover presumably sent from New York to an internee in the Ruhleben Camp, postage removed and crude label affixed across its place, purple and red censor's (?) handstamps, couple rough corners but presumably rare, a great lot of fact and fiction (mostly the latter) for the World War I collector or German specialist E. 500-750

Two volumes of unused stamps, essentially complete for D.D.R., few better earlier issues stuck down on pages, Russian Zone with nice range of issues from various provinces incl.
