Ample to large margins, mostly large, showing trace of the adjoining stamp at right, excellent color, tied by five-ring "85", very scarce blue straightline "LUDWIGSHAFEN" pre-adhesive marking and red "BAD.Oef" transit, Feldkirch June 10 and 11 receiving backstamps, cover gently cleaned, stamp removed, pressed and put back into its exact place, appears, Very Fine, with 1991 Buhler certificate and 2004 Stegmuller certificate (the former not mentioning any faults) (Image) E. 200-300

Horizontal strip of three, used on 6kr Dull Blue postal stationery entire (Michel 7II) to Paris, stamps tied by boxed "CARLSRUHE" handstamps, red 1865 French transit, lilac ms. "6" for the 6kr credit to France, Fine and very rare, signed Buhler and with his 1996 certificate, also with 2004 Brettl certificate stating that "strip of three has been arrased. Two each of 1kr and 18kr, cancelled by "14" in cogwheel cancels on March 1856 folded letter to New York, "Aschaffenburg 23 3" tombstone datestamp, red "Aachen Paid 25cts. 25 3" and New York 30c credit datestamps, some minor edgewear, some minor splitting, stamps with few faults, otherwise Fine, attractive franking (Image) E. 1,000-1,500
1097 imageHANOVER, 1864, -1/2g Black, Perce En Arc Perforations, White Gum (26, Michel 22y). Horizontal pair with bottom right sheet corner margin and numeral "12" at right, extraordinarily well-centered, Extremely Fine and in about the finest condition available, a true condition rarity, twice signed by Buhler and with his 1995 certificate as the scarcer Michel 22y and with 2004 Berger certificate as Michel 22x, Michel catalog value 750 Euros, Scott Retail as two singles (Image) 460.00
1098 c imageSCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN, 1864, 1-1/4s Blue & Gray, Type I (15, Michel 5 I). Large margins all around, tied by criss-cross grid, "BERGEDORF 1 5" in unframed arc town datestamp on small neat cover to Kehrsen, trivial cover ageing speck in the address area, still Very Fine, only a very few Schleswig-Holstein covers are known used in Bergedorf, signed Georg Buhler and with his 1993 certificate, also with 2004 Brettl certificate stating that the stamp has been lifted and replaced and may have been exchanged (we respectfully disagree with Brettl and concur with Buhler) (Image) E. 300-400

Used with 1kr Green (47) and 6kr Blue (54), tied by "220" in target cancels on 1864 folded cover to Buffalo, New York, bold strike of "Frankfurt AM 3 Oct." circular datestamp, red "Hamburg Packet Paid 3 Oct. 11" and New York datestamps, some slight edgewear, Fine and colorful usage (Image) E. 750-1,000
1100 c imageWURTTEMBURG, 1863-68, 9kr Yellow Brown, Perf 10, 1kr Green, 3kr Rose, Rouletted (39, 41, 42). Two covers, first with singles of each on 9kr entire to Chicago, second bears horizontal pair of 1kr used with 3kr on 9kr entire to Chicago, both sent from Grelingen, both seriously defective, but presentable and rare frankings (Image) E. 200-300
