EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN EXCEPTIONAL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1851 ONE-SHILLING RED VIOLET THAT RANKS AMONG THE FINEST EXTANT.

Most unused examples lack gum. This example with its large balanced margins, fresh color and original gum, is one of the finest known copies.
