(1). Remarkable plate composite reconstruction of the 240
positions, from "AA" at top left to "TL" at bottom right, additionally,
each stamp is plated in pencil on back, range of plates incl. pair from 1A,
3, 4, 5, 6, 8, few others, mostly with red MC cancels, margins to in (most
plating quality)FINE-VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN ATTRACTIVE AND RARE RECONSTRUCTED COMPOSITE SHEET OF THE GREAT BRITAIN ONE-PENNY BLACK.
The Penny Black plate was lettered in such a way that each stamp could be easily matched to its position. This may have been done so that any defective engravings could be quickly identified.

circular datestamps on registered legal-size First Day cover to
Beckenham, KentFRESH AND VERY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL FIRST DAY COVER WITH BLOCKS OF FOUR OF ALL OF THE LOW VALUES OF THE SET.
This is reputed to be the only first day with blocks of four of the low values. (Image)
