EXTREMELY FINE. THIS NEW DISCOVERY IS THE EARLIEST DOCUMENTED USE OF THE 90-CENT 1888 BANK NOTE ISSUE.

Scott Catalogue lists the earliest date of use for Scott 218 as Oct. 10, 1888 on piece and Oct. 29, 1888 on cover. This example, with clearly-struck month and yeardate, is the new earliest documented use of this issue.
