Kendall of Seward Pa., bold strike of June 18, 1898 Seward backstamp, few toning spots on the cover and stamp perforations as well as a tiny insignificant tear at left from the machine cancelling device

FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE FIRST DAY COVER FOR THE 2-CENT TRANS-MISSISSIPPI ISSUE.

A total of seven First Day covers are known of the 2c Trans-Mississippi issue. The cover offered here was acquired by Dr. Martin in McCusker Sale #102 (September 1997) where it realized $11,000.
