Planty #GP7 a magnificent set of twelve covers with official engraved corner card cachet "1732-1932 United States Commission for the Celebration of the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the birth of George Washington Washington Building Washington, D.C. -Official Business", each cover is the original and exquisite official stationery that illustrates a beautiful engraving of Washington with dedication to all officials and commissioners involved in this grand celebration, we have seen only one other set in 25 years and that was over 20 years ago -- it was as we have described this set so far, but what makes this set even more outstanding is that each cover is addressed to a different Cabinet Member under President Hoover and each cover bears their signature -- the 10c is addressed to "The Honorable Herbert Hoover", others include Secretaries of War, Treasury, Interior, Attorney General, etc. this is one of only two sets known to exist with autographs and one of the most exciting historical items we have seen, simple unsurpassed in its historical/philatelic content (Image) E. 3,000-4,500 2,300.00
