The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition opened on June 1, 1909, which was a Tuesday and the first official day of use for this stamp. This cover was postmarked on the preceeding Friday, four days before it was supposed to be used. This is the only predate we have handled for this issue. It is believed to be the only known predate from this city and is probably one of less than four known predates. (Image) |
