1734 3c 1861 Issue, Massive Study Collection. Approximately 1,000 used stamps sorted on stock pages, begins with a wonderful array of early shades incl. dozens in the Pink, Rose Pink and a few toward the Pigeon Blood Pink spectrum, continues with later shades incl. a number of scarcer "Issued Lakes" (the regularly-issued version of Scott 66), some straddle-pane and Jumbo-margined examples, wide variety of cancellations incl. colored (a few in green), fancy corks, numerals, "Paid", "Paid All", initials, unusual town markings and ms. cancels, multiples incl. block of four with "3" cancels and an imprint pair, condition varies from Extremely Fine Gem to Fine-Very Fine with minor faults, but there are no "fillers" and the overall quality is exceptionally high, a wonderful starting point for specialization or a significant "hoard" for examination and treasure-hunting, Scott Retail is significant if all of the Pinks and Rose Pinks are counted E. 4,000-5,000 5,000.00
1735 10c Yellow Green (68). 2 unused and 49 used stamps on stock pages, nice range of shades incl. Dark Green, a few red cancels, most have small faults and Fine-Very Fine appearance 3,545.00 625.00
1736 24c 1861 Issue. 29 used stamps on stock page, selected for shade and cancellation, incl. Steel Blue, Grayish Violet and Deep Reddish Lilac early shades, several standard Red Lilac and a nice range of later Gray and Gray Lilac shades, cancels incl. red and blue, "12" credit handstamp, fancy corks incl. 1737 30c Orange (71). 10 used stamps, nearly all better cancellations including blue Wells, Fargo & Co. double circle, leaf, sunburst with dot in center, Maltese cross, red circle of wedges, grid of blue diamonds, and blue boxed Aachen Franco & red New York Paid combination, a few small faults, generally Fine, attractive appearing lot E. 300-400 525.00
1738 30c Orange, 90c Blue (71, 72). 32 of former and 2 of latter, all used and selected for unusual or fancy cancel, 30c incl. red, blue, stars, geometrics and "U" in Star, 90c with Star (the second 90c has a cork added over ms.), mixed centering and small faults to be expected, generally Fine appearance, visually quite stunning with the bright Orange 30c 1861 providing the background for some beautiful cancellations, Scott Retail without any premium for cancels is $5,600.00 E. 2,000-3,000 1,250.00
1739 2c Black (73). 51 used stamps on stock page, interesting variety incl. two with imprint selvage, pair and strip of three, excellent range of cancels incl. blue, star, shield, "Paid", railroad, worth mentioning is a very unusual though unreadable negative script initials in circle, minor faults to be expected, overall appearance is Fine-Very Fine E. 400-500 675.00

Grill Issues (86-101). 147 stamps sorted on stock pages, mostly used, much duplication incl. better issues, nice variety of cancels incl. corks, geometrics, red and blue, very mixed centering and usual small faults, only a few "space-fillers", generally Very Good-Fine appearance, an excellent nucleus for study or great profit-producing potential for the retail dealer or eBay seller, Scott Retail over $55,000.00 E. 5,000-7,500 6,500.00
1741 1c-3c 1868 Grilled Issues. 165 used stamps arranged on stock pages, a large number of 2c Black Jack issues incl. No. 84, 87 and 93, many chosen for cancellation incl. 1743 1c Blue, E. & F. Grills (86, 92). Three stamps and one cover of former, four stamps and one cover of latter, E. Grills include unused (regummed) single, small blue squares cancel and a questionable cancel (over ms.), the cover is a drop letter usage, the F. Grills include a single with cancel removed (regummed and appears unused), large red segmented grid (1995 P.F. certificate, "pre-printing paper creases"), and two other used singles, the cover is also a drop letter use tied by blue target and Westfield Mass. postmark and with U.S. Internal Revenue Official Business imprint, generally Fine lot E. 500-750 675.00
1744 1c-90c 1869 Pictorial Issue. 134 stamps sorted on stock pages, mostly used, nice variety of cancels, duplication with lots of bi-colored high values incl. Nos. 118 (27), 119 (31), 120 (12), 121 (11) and 122, also 123, 124 and 128 unused, mixed centering, almost all have minor faults and Fine appearance, a rare opportunity to acquire a significant quantity of this popular classic issue, Scott Retail approximately $52,295.00 without premium for cancels (and counting unused-appearing stamps as used) E. 5,000-7,500 9,000.00
