1725 1845-51 Imperforate Classics. 61 stamps incl. multiples, almost all used with some duplication, incl. Nos. 9X1, 9X1e, 1 (6 incl. pair), 7, 8A, 9, 11 (used block), 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17, variable margins and appearance, almost all have faults, several repaired or defective, still generally Fine appearance with Scott Retail in excess of $28,000.00 E. 3,000-4,000 5,750.00
1726 1c Blue, Ty. II, IIIa & IV (7, 8A, 9). Balance of a 1c 1851 collection (only one Ty. IIIa), includes 45 off-cover stamps and 26 stamps on one front and 17 covers, the off-cover material includes singles, three pairs and three strips of three, a couple singles that may or may not be unused (no gum), major cracked plate, cancellations with red "PAID" (two), red N.Y. carrier, railroad, red Mobile "paint" (three), blue Marysville, CA, green grid, "STEAM", fancy 5-point intertwined star, "WAY", U. S. Express Mail, etc., four of these with 1986, 1988 and 1989 certificates (all ex Koppersmith), the covers include a couple 5c treaty rates used with 3c stamps, single and multiple use, center line single on 3c entire No. U10 tied by "WAY" with bar beneath (1997 P.F. certificate), two singles (one identified as Ty. IIIa No. 8A on an accompanying 1994 P.F. certificate) tied by Savannah datestamp on Jan. 1852 folded prices current, the front bears a pair of Ty. II's tied by Mobile Ala. datestamp and the scarce pointed frame "GB//2FPK" ("F" high) to France, condition varies from Fine appearance to sound Very Fine or better, a very interesting and useful lot for the specialist E. 2,000-3,000 3,000.00
1727 1c-30c 1857-60 Issue. More than 200 stamps sorted and identified on stock pages, mostly used and much duplication of better nos., incl. scarce types such as Nos. 19, 21, 23, 31 and 34, better 5c shades incl. two No. 28b (very near to Indian Red), many high values with red cancels, also incl. two No. 40, condition ranges from Fine-Very Fine appearance with small faults to defective "space-fillers" (incl. Nos. 19 and 24), nonetheless a major holding worth careful examination, tremendous eBay potential, Scott Retail with everything counted (but no premium for cancels) is more than $91,000.00 E. 10,000-15,000 14,000.00
1728 1c Blue, Ty. I, II, IIIa IV (18, 20, 22, 23). A small lot of twelve stamps, one Ty. I & IV, five each of the other two, one Ty. II unused (no gum), Ty. IV exceptionally well-centered, removed ms. cancel, others cancelled, a couple cancels appear "greenish" but are greenish blue, also blue "FREE" and a fancy segmented solid five-point star, mixed condition, mostly Fine-Very Fine appearance E. 750-1,000 900.00
1729 1c Blue, Ty. V (24). Attractive specialized collection of 44 stamps on album pages, a few unused including a block of four, the best part are the fancy and auxiliary cancellations and include red and black carriers, hollow Collinsville Ct. axehead, crossed ms. lines precancel (on piece), blue "BALTO PAID" double circle, vertical pair with Marysville, Cal. stars, horizontal strip of three with "PAID 3" in circles, "WAY" on a horizontal pair, boxed "1ct", another star with circular hollow center, blue Wells, Fargo & Co., large red "2", railroad, red "STEAM", OGDE(N)" Utah Territory, numeral "10" in circle etc., mixed condition, mostly Fine-Very Fine, an exceptionally nice lot for the specialist E. 1,000-1,500 700.00
1730 30c Orange (38). Six stamps, includes one unused (regummed) with small repaired thin, others used and virtually all with better cancels such as red grid of tiny diamonds (reperfed, etc.), eight-bar unframed grid also in red, a twelve blade "pinwheel" and solid five point star (the last two with late 1990's P.F. certificates mentioning faults), Fine-Very Fine appearance, fancy cancellations on this stamp are quite scarce, also included but not counted is an 1860 cover to France with the stamp added E. 500-750 650.00
1731 1c-90c 1861-66 Issues. Over 300 stamps sorted and identified on stock pages, mostly used, many better issues with duplication incl. Nos. 62B, 67, 70b, 70c, 71, 72, 75, nice variety of cancels, some "space-fillers" with defects, many Fine-Very Fine appearance with small faults, a deep reservoir of 1861's with tremendous potential to enhance a classic collection or to keep eBay bidders busy at night, Scott Retail in excess of $56,000.00 E. 5,000-7,500 11,500.00
1732 1c-90c 1861-68 Issues. Approximately 140 mostly used stamps sorted on stock pages (a few plate proofs noted), selected with an eye for cancellations and colors, a sampling of better items incl. page devoted to San Francisco Cogwheel cancel on 1c-90c values, "Registered" straightline on 24c and 30c, express company datestamps on 5c and 10c, colored and fancy cancels on 1c-10c, Japanese "X" cancel on 10c, most grilled issues are 3c, mixed condition with small faults the norm and some reperfing or repairs, Fine-Very Fine appearance, tremendous potential for the specialist collector or dealer E. 2,000-3,000 1,600.00
1733 1c Blue (63). 19 nearly all used stamps and twelve covers, nice range of shades, better off-cover cancellations include large star in circle, red "(PAID A)LL", rosette, "FREE" and several other intricate stars, the covers include three 3c rates, 1c & 2c unsealed circulars, drop letters, a pink "Write Often" poem cover, ultramarine cancel, 3c rate tied by "STEAMBOAT" and red "STEAMER PERRY" (some light toning and small faults), a 10c rate from California to New York paid by seven 1c and 3c single, and 3c rate tied by blue targets and matching BROWNVILLE N.T. postmark to Nebraska City, generally Fine-Very Fine E. 750-1,000 950.00
