receiving backstamps, 3c single pulled perfVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE STRIP OF THREE OF THE 5-CENT BROWN 1861 ISSUE ON A PATRIOTIC COVER FROM HOLLAND, MICHIGAN, TO HOLLAND IN EUROPE. ESPECIALLY RARE TRANSIT VIA DETROIT EXCHANGE OFFICE. The 18c in postage was apparently accepted as prepayment of the 21c rate via American or British Open Mail.
