Paid Mar. 31" circular datestamp, ms. due markings, 1864 transit and receiving backstamps, 3c single pulled perf VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE STRIP OF THREE OF THE 5-CENT BROWN 1861 ISSUE ON A PATRIOTIC COVER FROM HOLLAND, MICHIGAN, TO HOLLAND IN EUROPE. ESPECIALLY RARE TRANSIT VIA DETROIT EXCHANGE OFFICE. The 18c in postage was apparently accepted as prepayment of the 21c rate via American or British Open Mail.
