VERY FINE. A RARE "ANGELL" PATRIOTIC COVER WITH THE 12-CENT 1857 ISSUE, ADDRESSED TO BELGIUM AND FORWARDED TO GERMANY.

A review of the Matthies holding of Angell patriotics found only three covers bearing stamps solely from the 1857 Issue. In addition, this is the only cover addressed to either Belgium or Frankfort.

FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE USAGE OF A PATRIOTIC COVER FROM BELGIUM TO NEW YORK.

Perhaps four or five patriotics exist used from Belgium, but no others are known with this franking.
