436 og image30c Ultramarine & Carmine (121). Original gum, almost perfectly centered with wide and well-balanced margins all around

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A REMARKABLY FRESH AND BEAUTIFULLY-CENTERED ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.

The 10c and 30c 1869 Pictorial stamps have unframed designs that can be difficult to judge in terms of centering and margins, because the wings at top and flag points at sides are often touched by the perforation holes. This stamp, with margins well clear of the extreme points of the design, is one of the finest original-gum 30c 1869's we have encountered.
