Revolutionary Government. Six covers, incl. one from San Juan, Puerto
Rico with U.S. Department of Agriculture Weather Bureau imprint and
addressed to General Aguinaldo, red "Mil. Sta. No. 1, Manila P.I.
Mar. 30, 1899 General Delivery" handstamp, others with various markings
incl. triangular provisional handstamp, large purple oval "Comandancia
Militar Del Puesto De Daet" handstamp, few small faults, Very Fine and
scarce group, General Aguinaldo's revolution was supported by the U.S.
government during the Spanish-American War and he took control of most of
the island of Luzon. His Revolutionary Government operated postal telegraph
and revenue systems. After the U.S. proclaimed sovereignty over the
Philippines, Agionaldo's forces revolted against the Americans. He was
eventually captured on March 23, 1901.
