VERY FINE. ONE OF EIGHT RECORDED COVERS WITH TWO 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL STAMPS. A COLORFUL AND RARE TRANSATLANTIC USAGE.

This cover was carried on the HAPAG line's Cimbria, departing New York on Sep. 28, 1869, arriving at Cherbourg on Oct. 9. The 60c postage prepays the quadruple 15c rate, with the United States retaining a total of 48c.
