VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THE EARLIEST RECORDED BISECT USAGE OF THE 10-CENT 1847 ISSUE. A GREAT RARITY.

The next earliest recorded bisect use of the 10c is on May 13, 1848, and was offered in our April 22, 1980, sale. The bisect on that cover was accepted as prepayment, but the cover was short-paid due to distance greater than 300 miles.
