VERY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE 13-CENT PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY.

The control number of this essay impression is noted in the listing for 308-E1. The Scott value of $1,250.00 is well below the $3,000-4,000 realizations for similar essays in Shreve's sale of the Brody collection. (Image)

VERY FINE. THE ONLY KNOWN EXAMPLE OF THIS SPECTACULAR PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY FOR THE 50-CENT 1902 ISSUE.

There are two progressive die essays for the 50c 1902 Issue (Scott 310-E1 and E2). This is the less complete state, the other is offered in the following lot. Each is unique. (Image)

VERY FINE. ONE OF TWO SCOTT-LISTED PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAYS AND THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS NEARLY-FINISHED STATE.

VERY FINE. AN EXTRAORDINARY AND UNIQUE PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY OF THE $2.00 1902 ISSUE. ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING OF ALL BUREAU ISSUE ESSAYS AND PROOFS.

This is the only recorded die essay for the $2.00 1902 Issue. It is described correctly in Brazer as Dark Blue ("unique"), but the Scott Catalogue incorrectly describes the color as Black. (Image)

VERY FINE. THIS IS THE UNIQUE PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY FOR $5.00 1902 ISSUE AND ONE OF THE MOST DESIRABLE BUREAU ISSUE ESSAYS EXTANT.

This state of the die is among the least complete of all 1902 Issue essays. There are no other known progressive die impressions for the $5.00 value. (Image)
