Confederate officer, cover tear affects address and ms. marking, otherwise
Very Fine, this is the only recorded Confederate censor's cover from
Arkansas, Alf Johnson's Spy Company was the only reinforcement to reach
Arkansas Post when the fort was under attack and were forced to surrender,

2c Bright Yellow Green
(3a). The so-called "Emerald Green" shade, vertical strip of five, huge
margins to slightly in at upper right and touched at bottom, incredible
color on bright fresh paper, tied by "Richmond Va. Jul. 5, 1862" circular
datestamps on back of cover to Dover N.C., fifth day of new 10c rate,
envelope slit open at side, leaving strip in perfectly sound
conditionVERY FINE. THE UNIQUE AND CELEBRATED 2-CENT LITHOGRAPH STRIP IN THE BRILLIANT "EMERALD GREEN" SHADE. THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THIS COLOR VARIETY. Although the 10c Carmine has earned a more widespread reputation for rarity and desirability, specialists are acutely aware of the existence of the 2c Bright Yellow Green, or "Emerald Green" shade, and it is regarded as one of the rarest stamps of the Confederate States. 5c Blue, Stone 2 (4).
Bottom margin block of 80, Positions 21-100 including complete transfer
stone of 50 at bottom, assortment of plate varieties, original gum, more
than 50 stamps Mint N.H., others h.r., some stamps throughout the pane have
faults incl. creases, tears, stains and thinsVERY FINE APPEARING BLOCK OF 80 OF THE 1862 5-CENT BLUE LITHOGRAPH FROM THE SECOND PRINTING STONE USING THE STONE 2 TRANSFER BLOCK. THIS IS THE SECOND OR THIRD LARGEST KNOWN MULTIPLE OF THE ISSUE. Comparing this multiple with the ex Walcott sheet from Stone 2, there is an obvious difference in alignment between the 50 transfer-stone positions at bottom and the row above in any of the four quadrants of Stone 2. and two different shades one week after the rate change suggests that the
sender was a soldier who applied one stamp first, followed by the second
