A FINE-APPEARING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL INVERT. ONLY 90 COPIES ARE RECORDED IN OUR CENSUS.

Our census of 1869 Inverts, published in the February 1999 Chronicle and updated with one new stamp, contains 90 examples of the 15c Invert, including three unused and 87 used (one in the British Library's Tapling collection). Over half have serious faults or repairs.

Our published 1869 Invert census (with unpublished updates) contains 89 copies of the perforated 24c Invert, including four unused stamps and multiples. This stamp is a relatively new addition.

EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING HAWAIIAN STEAM SERVICE USAGE OF THE 3-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ON A PRINTED COVER SENT FROM THE FLAGSHIP OF THE U.S. PACIFIC FLEET.

A note accompanying the cover indicates that the letter originally enclosed (no longer present) was sent from Rear Admiral T. Turner, Commander of the Pacific Fleet.
